Overview

One of the most popular attractions of Bais is dolphin watching, which gives visitors the chance to see dolphins in the wild rather than confined in a tank like they would in an aquarium. Dolphins enjoy examining the boats because they are naturally curious creatures. After sightseeing dolphins, you will experience the breathtaking Manjuyod Sandbar, with its flawless white sand, is located in Negros Oriental’s North Bais Bay and is referred to be the “Maldives of the Philippines”. Because of its length, the seven-kilometer-long sandbar is best viewed at low tide. The native wooden houses appear to be floating on water when the sandbar is submerged beneath the waves during high tide. Manjuyod Sandbar is like a white pearl that rises from the seafloor as the tide recedes.

To end the tour, you will experience a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere as you discover the Twin Lakes of Balinsasayao. The twin crater lakes of Balinsasayao and Danao are situated 1,000 ft above sea level.  One intriguing aspect of it is that you don’t feel as though you’re on top of a mountain when you’re there. There are only trees and a serene lake in sight. Activities there include paddle boat riding and bird watching.

Visiting Season

The best time for Dolphin Watching is from March to October, avoiding the northeast monsoon prevalent during other months, which can make cruising challenging. Additionally, high winds and waves during this period reduce the chances of dolphin sightings. For your guide on dolphin watching and Manjuyod sanbdar, click here to see tide times for the week.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The waters of Bais are home to a variety of dolphin species, including the playful and acrobatic spinner dolphins. Dolphin watching tours typically start early in the morning to catch the dolphins at their most active. During these tours, you might see dolphins leaping and spinning out of the water, often in large pods. The tours often include a boat ride through the scenic waters of Tañon Strait, where you can also enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. It's a fantastic way to experience marine wildlife in their natural habitat and enjoy the beauty of the coastal environment.

Manjuyod Sandbar, often referred to as the "Maldives of the Philippines," is a stunning natural attraction located off the coast of Bais City on Negros Island. This sandbar is famous for its picturesque white sand stretching into the turquoise waters, creating a spectacular and serene landscape. During low tide, the sandbar becomes a prominent feature, offering visitors an opportunity to walk on the shallow waters and enjoy a pristine beach experience. The clear, calm waters are ideal for swimming, and the sandbar's remote location ensures a tranquil setting away from crowds. It's also a great spot for photography, picnicking, and simply relaxing while taking in the breathtaking surroundings.

If you’re looking for a serene escape, Twin Lakes in Sibulan offers an ultimate retreat into nature with its stunning landscapes and tranquil ambiance. You can delve into kayaking across the mirror-like waters, hike through lush trails for breathtaking views, or simply relax by the lakeside and soak up the natural beauty. The area's cool climate and peaceful setting make it a perfect spot for unwinding and reconnecting with nature.
